Join or Renew Individual Membership
Membership in the Illinois Chapter of the American Fisheries Society.
Individual membership is strongly encouraged for anyone to attend the chapter’s Annual Meeting.
Chapter membership comes with several benefits:
- A vote in the proceedings of the annual business meeting of the Illinois Chapter of the American Fisheries Society, you must be a chapter member. See annual meetings page.
- *The opportunity to be involved by serving as an officer on the chapter’s executive committee or as a member or chair of another chapter committee. See committees page.
- Guaranteed inclusion on communications sent out to members by email, including current-year newsletters (older newsletters are available on the website).
Individual membership is for a single calendar year (Jan 1 to Dec 31).
*To hold office in the Illinois Chapter, you must also be a full Parent Society member (a requirement of the Parent Society for all state chapters, and also included in our chapter bylaws). Therefore, we require officers and valid officer nominees to have a parent society membership and an Illinois Chapter Membership.
Membership to both the Parent Society and the Illinois Chapter can be purchased at once on the parent society membership page (select the “Illinois Chapter” membership as an add-on during their purchase of the parent society membership). Our chapter’s membership committee will be informed on a quarterly basis of your purchase of membership in our Illinois Chapter and in the Parent Society.
